Katharina onboard RV Poseidon: I

Katharina just arrived at Las Palmas, where she will set of with the RV Poseidon within the frame of a scientific cruise by Geomar (POS519) for the Mauritanian upwelling in order to accomplish the first ever direct sea-atmosphere COS flux measurements. Below a few impressions from the setup in Las Palmas. The cruise can be followed here.

New Biomet member

As of 1st of January, the Biomet group welcoms a new member – Karolina Sakowska, who will be working on constraining GPP by joint measurements of COS fluxes and sun-induced fluorescence as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral fellow for the next two years.

Christmas present

We just received notice that Katharina’s PhD project proposal to the ÖAW will be funded for three years – congratulations and Merry Christmas !

Biomet goes aquatic!

Within the project ALCH4, in collaboration with the Free University of Bolzano and the CNR Firenze and funded by the Province Südtirol/Alto Adige, we will be conducting mobile eddy covariance methane flux measurements from lakes in the Alpine region during the next two years. Today the basis for the mobile flux platform, the boat, arrived.
