Graduation

Today another Biomet student graduated – Tamara successfully defended her thesis on soil COS exchange at Neustift – congratulations!

New paper

The paper lead by Florian on “In situ soil COS exchange of a temperate mountain grassland under simulated drought” was conditionally accepted in Oecologia – congratulations!

Another new discussion paper

Gerdel K., Spielmann F.M., Hammerle A., Wohlfahrt G. (2016) Eddy covariance carbonyl sulphide flux measurements with a quantum cascade laser absorption spectrometer. Atmospheric Measurement Techniques Discussions, doi:10.5194/amt-2016-313.

New project funded

We have received notice that Albin’s project on merging COS flux measurements and sun-induced fluorescence to constrain gross primary productivity will be funded through a young investigator grant by the University of Innsbruck – congratulations!

Lunzer See update

Early this week, Kathi and Albin were at Lunzer See to dismantle the eddy covariance equipment from the floating platform, which will be hauled from the lake for the winter period. This year, for the first time, we will be making eddy flux measurements during wintertime from both the East (first picture) and West (second picture) shore using two flux towers, thereby hoping to increase the fraction of data originating from the lake.
